Katra Hamilton, VMD
Veterinarian
Dr. Hamilton is a New England native and has lived throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts. She grew up skiing, sailing, hiking and camping throughout New England while always trying to rescue every animal in need of a home. Dr. Hamilton attended Bentley University and graduated undergrad in 2008 with a degree in accountancy, a year later she received her master's degree in accountancy while working full time for a large accounting firm in Boston. As a working professional in Boston Dr. Hamilton took to rescuing felines, some of which required frequent trips to veterinary offices. She met her now husband who worked in the veterinary field and found she preferred reading the latest veterinary updates over the most recent accounting bulletin. Dr. Hamilton enrolled full time at the University of New Hampshire in 2016 to complete her post-baccalaureate and attended the University of Pennsylvania to obtain her VMD. Dr. Hamilton graduated from PennVet in 2023, fulfilling her passion to help animals in need and owners navigate the growing field of veterinary care.
Dr. Hamilton is married to her best friend, Andy, with whom they are fur parents to three cats, Danny, Jinx, and Maddie, and their dog, Jack. They also rescued a betta fish, Ron Burgundy, and a miniature Shetland pony, Ted, while Dr. Hamilton was in veterinary school. After many years of visiting family in the White Mountains, they are delighted to finally call it home.
In her leisure time Dr. Hamilton enjoys all things outdoors including hiking, skiing, sailing, swimming, running and yoga always with a good cup of tea to go.
